We can breathe freely again

Clean Air Thanks to High Tech

We spend most of our time indoors. Although that means we’re not exposed to air pollution 24–7, getting to breathe clean air isn’t just an outdoors issue. As with many other things, Covid-19 highlighted the importance of HVAC systems and provided a powerful impetus for finding better indoor air-quality solutions. Our newly-installed air-purification system provides a high-tech solution from which everyone who comes to Werkhof Hannover benefits— employees, guests, and customers alike.

Better Air Quality Guaranteed

Thanks to a solution provided by Trox Technik, our air filters can now block 99.95 % of all viruses from entering the air inside of many Werkhof facilities. Our ventilation system pumps fresh air constantly, keeping it recycling every few minutes. Airborne particulates don't stand a chance of spreading through our rooms. To date, we’ve installed new air purifiers in our conference rooms as well as in the hotel’s breakfast area.

The modern HVAC system in our restaurant actually predates Covid. Built by the Gesa Hygiene Group, the system ensures that conditions inside the restaurant are always optimal by constantly recycling the air and regulating the heat. The system in our guest rooms is much more direct—it simply extracts stale air, pumps it outside, and then supplies fresh air back to the room. These systems enable us to maintain an ideal, healthy indoor climate all year round.

Constant Ventilation

Keeping windows open and maintaining proper circulation is also an effective way to limit the bacterial and viral load in our air. The Robert Koch Institute recommends keeping air circulating in our indoor spaces as much as possible in order to significantly reduce aerosol buildup.

The optimal solution is known as transverse ventilation, which works by extracting exhaust and then distributing fresh air along a tunnel system. This is one of the fastest methods for recycling fresh air. Keeping windows permanently tilted is effective as well and prevents the need for regular “shock ventilation.”

The different Werkhof operations each have stringent hygiene policies, all of which have ventilation and air-quality plans integrated. If you’d like to know more about the Werkhof approach to hygiene, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

By employing state-of-the-art technology and observing our hygiene policies strictly, we’re working hard to safeguard the health and safety of every Werkhof guest and employee. It’s a safe bet!
